Dover Par 3 Welcomes Pete Thien!

Peter Thien has taught golf in Delaware and surrounding areas for 25 years, working with new golfers, and experienced golfers of all ages.  Peter’s experiences are wide. He was the head Golf Pro at Pike Creek Golf Course, General Manager at Hartefeld National in Avondale, PA, and is currently at Del Castle Golf Course in Wilmington, DE. Peter’s depth of experience makes him a tremendous jewel at Dover Par 3 & Driving Range. We are very excited that he has agreed to spend time at Dover Par 3 and we believe that you will love working with him.
 
Private lessons are only $40 for a 45 minute lesson. This is unheard of for a professional like Peter! Lessons will be scheduled on Sundays, beginning May 13, 2012. Peter works with students at all skill levels, from beginner to the more advanced golfer. He will help each student reach his or her goals and maximize abilities.
 
Ladies clinic begins June 3rd. This 4 week clinic will be from 3:30 to 4:45 and will cover all aspects of your golf game. The clinic includes a free round of golf for each participant for just $75! Ladies clinics are a great way to meet new friends and experience golf in a new way.  Dates are: June 3, 10, 17, & 24. ###

Dover Par 3 & Driving Range is pleased to announce the course maintenance updates for 2012.

Since last fall, we have been working to make course improvements that will enhance your golf experiences at Dover Par 3 & Driving Range! For the upcoming season, we have layed sod around the tees, to replace the worn turf. We used a Tall Fesque that will be well rooted by mid-May. This is a hearty turf that will withstand most draught conditions. The new turf replaced grass that was worn from years of use. We have scheduled a program of replacing small worn areas annually, for a better golf experience.  We do ask that when you hit from the mat, you stand on the mat and not on the grass. We also are installing concrete pads under the tee mats so they are permanently level. This work is slated to be done on April 1st.
 
We hope you realize the value at Dover Par 3. The Par 3 is an 18-Hole par 3 course that takes only a couple hours to play. A round of golf is only $14 (Juniors $10). We offer a full golf facility with full size, country club condition greens, a full length driving range, and pro shop. We also boast newly renovated softball and baseball batting cages, where you can spend as little or as much time as you want hitting balls.
